M. Susan Lindee has been Visiting Professor, Tsinghua University, Beijing; Visiting Professor, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; Visiting Professor, Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation (IDEC), Hiroshima University, Hiroshima, Japan; Associate Dean for the Social Sciences, School of Arts and Sciences; Chair of the Board of the Consortium for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine; and Department Chair. She is a Guggenheim Fellow.
She is currently Diversity Search Adviser for the Social Sciences in Penn's School of Arts and Sciences.
Her most recent book, Rational Fog: Science, Technology and Modern War was published in September 2020 by Harvard University Press. She collaborated with Warwick Anderson on an edited volume, Pacific Biologies, the December 2020 issue of Historical Studies in the Natural Sciences, appeared in December 2020. In November 2017, she was Ship's Historian for a Lindblad cruise of the Galapagos Islands, and in June 2019, a field participant in Penn's Galapagos Alliance, presenting lectures to Galapagos guides about the history of scientific work in the islands.
